SMTMD is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. We depend on volunteers; without volunteers, we cannot function as an organization. In the coming year, why not share your love of traditional music and dance by volunteering to serve on our board, or helping out at our events?  Volunteering is a fun, easy way to enjoy what we do, to meet and work with others who are helping to make our events happen, and to serve our community, all the while having a great time!  Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to get involved and enjoy the benefit of free admission to our events.

Here are some opportunities:

• Assist at the door – Greet attendees and take admission

• Hospitality – Bring snacks and set up beverages to share at a concert or open mic

• Set up – learn about sound systems, setup chairs, tables, decorations, and such

• Play an instrument – join the Southern Maryland Open Band and play for our dancers. Check out the Open Band music if you want to practice in advance!

• Chair, co-chair, or assist with a committee (e.g., Membership, Dance, Publicity, Concert)

• Join the board – help SMTMD by being part of the team that guides our organization
